Contentment

Totally and utterly content.
A frightened by the wind Peachy just woke up, all tears and flailing arms to just be soothed. And so, in the time honoured tradition, we cuddled up close, her little head resting on my shoulder, and slowly rocked back and forth. sleep_time
She stroked my face and, in her usual Peachy way, tried to put her fingers in my mouth, and slowly slowly her little eyelids dropped and her breathing shallowed.
And in that moment, I realised my life’s work. I am a mummy. I may not have the millions in the bank account (yet), I may still be in my thirties deciding what I will be when I grow up, I may not have the fancy McMansion, but what I do have is pure and utter contentment. How blessed I am.
